Regular Season Round 1: BSW Sixers - Bernau 78-69

The most important game of round 1 took place in Sandersdorf of North where Sixers beat SSV Lok Bernau (0-1) 78-69 on Saturday night. They outrebounded SSV Lok Bernau 38-21 including a 26-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Naturalized Croatian center Benedikt Turudic (206-97) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and Croatian point guard Luka Petkovic (190-88) chipped in 14 points and 5 assists. Sixers' coach Tomas Grepl used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side guard Jonas Mattisseck (194-0) responded with 15 points and American forward Khris Lane (201, college: VCU) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. SSV Lok Bernau will play next round against strong Muenster trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Sixers will try to continue on its current victory against SparkassenStars in Bochum.
