Regular Season Round 1: Hamburg - Baunach 109-66

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Baunach (0-1) on the court of Hamburg. Visitors were rolled over by Hamburg 109-66. They were well out of reach of Baunach shooting 70.5 percent from the field. Hamburg forced 24 Baunach turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Baunach was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Andrew Barham (198-89, college: Gonzaga) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 6 rebounds. Center Justin Raffington (205-91, college: Florida Atlantic) contributed with 19 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Five Hamburg players scored in double figures. Daniel Keppeler (205-97, college: Regnitztal) answered with 13 points and 5 rebounds and forward Kay Bruhnke (198-1) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Baunach. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hamburg will play against Lions (#14) in Karlsruhe in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Baunach will play on the road against Rostock to get more than just one victory in their record.
