BV Villingen-Schwenningen used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Giessen 87-71 on Saturday night. BV Villingen-Schwenningen dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Giessen 46ers II's 32. American forward Rasheed Moore (196-95, college: E.Stroudsburg) stepped up and scored 24 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and Bill Borekambi (198-92, college: Sequoias CC) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds. Four BV Villingen-Schwenningen players scored in double figures. BV Villingen-Schwenningen's coach Alen Velcic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side the former international Johannes Lischka (203-87) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and swingman Leon Okpara (195-98) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!). BV Villingen-Schwenningen will face Coburg (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Giessen 46ers II will play against Dragons Rhoendorf and hope to win that game.
