Regular Season Round 2: Treuchtlingen - Bamberg 85-65

Treuchtlingen used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Bamberg 85-65 on Saturday night. Treuchtlingen dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Bamberg's 24. Treuchtlingen forced 19 Bamberg turnovers and outrebounded them 36-19 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Treuchtlingen looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Bamberg's players. The best player for the winners was guard Tim Eisenberger (197-91) who scored 12 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Forward Stefan Schmoll (196-89) chipped in 12 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Five Treuchtlingen players scored in double figures. Point guard Kevin Eichelsdoerfer (187-92) produced 20 points and 4 assists and American power forward Robert Ferguson (203-85, college: St.Joseph's) added 5 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Treuchtlingen will face Schwabing (#14) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Bamberg will play against Vilsbiburg (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
