There was no surprise when Westerstede (0-2) was defeated at home by Aschersleben (2-0) 77-66 on Sunday. Aschersleben dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Westerstede's 38. The best player for the winners was American point guard Kendal Williams (183-92, college: Delaware St.) who scored 20 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. French guard Jordan Aboki (190-93) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds. Four Aschersleben players scored in double figures. Point guard Jacob Hollatz (188-98) produced 21 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals and Marcello Schroeder (195-87) added 23 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Aschersleben will face Goetting.ASC (#6) in Goettingen in the next round where they are favorite. Westerstede will play on the road against Langenhagen (#2) and hope to win that game.
