Regular Season Round 2: P.Zvaigzdes - Neptunas 69-88

There was no surprise in Pasvalys where P.Zvaigzdes (0-2) was crushed by Neptunas (2-0) 88-69. The game without a history. Neptunas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Neptunas had a 29-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Neptunas especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. International power forward Gytis Masiulis (206-98) notched a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and Osvaldas Olisevicius (200-93) supported him with 18 points. Four Neptunas players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 24 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) by Nigerian-American forward Emmanuel Omogbo (203-95, college: Colorado St.) did not help to save the game for P.Zvaigzdes. Latvian Ivars-Rihards Zvigurs (198-95) added 12 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Neptunas' next round opponent will be Lietkabelis (#6) in Panevezys where they are favorite. P.Zvaigzdes will play on the road against Siauliai (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
