Regular Season Round 2: Juventus - Siauliai 83-78

Date: September 26, 2018
The game in Utena was also worth to mention about. Siauliai (0-1) played at the court of Juventus (1-1). Juventus managed to secure a 5-point victory 83-78. It looked good early as Siauliai took a 3-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Juventus had a 22-14 second period charge getting the lead and Siauliai was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 78-83. Juventus shot 28 for 39 from the free-throw line, while Siauliai only scored twelve points from the stripe. 30 personal fouls committed by Siauliai helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. International power forward Vaidas Cepukaitis (207-89, agency: Interperformances) notched a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds to lead the effort and guard Dovis Bickauskis (191-93, agency: Octagon Europe) supported him with 18 points and 5 assists. Even 22 points and 4 steals by Ignas Vaitkus (196-93, agency: Octagon Europe) did not help to save the game for Siauliai. International power forward Sarunas Beniusis (206-93) added 14 points and 8 rebounds for the guests. Four Juventus and five Siauliai players scored in double figures. Siauliai's coach Antanas Sireika tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Juventus' next round opponent will be Zalgiris (#3) in Kaunas and it may be the game of the week. Siauliai will play at home against P.Zvaigzdes (#10) and hope to win that game.
