Regular Season Round 1: Gruenberg - Opladen 74-75

An interesting game took place in Gruenberg where SG BBZ Opladen (1-0) edged by one point Baskets Grunberg (0-1) 75-74 on Saturday night. Baskets Grunberg was very close to get their first win. But it seems they have to wait a little bit longer. Canadian forward Heather Lindsay (190, college: Carleton) stepped up and scored 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and forward Leonie Schuetter (177-98) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. Four SG BBZ Opladen players scored in double figures. SG BBZ Opladen's coach Grit Schneider used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American guard Amy Patton (178-91, college: N.Arizona) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists and swingman Isabell Meinhart (178-94) scored 20 points and 4 assists. SG BBZ Opladen will meet at home Homburger TG in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Baskets Grunberg will have a break next round.
