The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Kirchheim Knights (0-1) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by Artland Dragons (2-0) 67-60. American guard Chase Griffin (190-83, college: Pepperdine) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Paul Albrecht (205-93) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Artland Dragons' coach Florian Hartenstein used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American point guard Dajuan Graf (185-92, college: N.C.Central) replied with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists and his fellow American import forward Keith Rendleman (203-90, college: NC-Wilmington, agency: HMS) added 10 points in the effort for Kirchheim Knights. Artland Dragons is looking forward to face Phoenix Hagen (#8) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kirchheim Knights will play against Gladiators and are hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
