Duesseldorf used a home court advantage and edged the opponent from Hagen 84-82 on Saturday night. Duesseldorf outrebounded Hagen BG 46-28 including a 19-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a good game for American point guard Deshaun Cooper (173-91, college: NW Missouri St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists. Lithuanian forward Dainius Zvinklys (203-90) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Duesseldorf's coach Jonas Joenke used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Salathiel Ligons (201-84) answered with 24 points and 6 rebounds and Spanish Jorge Tejera (200-92) added 20 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Hagen BG. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Duesseldorf will face Deutzer (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hagen BG will play against Herford (#11) and hope to win that game.
