Regular Season Round 4: Bamberg - Ansbach 65-69

Date: October 3, 2018
Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both first ranked Ansbach and 9th ranked Bamberg had identical 2-1 record. But Bamberg was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Ansbach 69-65 on Wednesday night. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Walter Simon (202-89, college: Cumberland) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 7 rebounds and forward David Kurpiela (195-92) who added 9 points during the contest. Ansbach's coach Martin Ides used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American power forward Robert Ferguson (203-85, college: St.Joseph's) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Daniel Eisenhardt (200-96) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Ansbach have a solid three-game winning streak. Despite that victory Ansbach went down to third position (South-East) due to points difference, which they share with Leitershofen. Loser Bamberg dropped to the fifth place with two games lost. Ansbach will face league's leader Oberhaching in Deisenhofen in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Bamberg will play on the road against Topstar (#4) in Diedorf and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
