Regular Season Round 4: Goetting.ASC - Langenhagen 98-65

There was no surprise in Goettingen where one of their biggest challengers Langenhagen (4-1) was outplayed by top-ranked Goetting.ASC (4-0) 98-65 on Wednesday. It was a key game for the top position in North. Goetting.ASC made 25-of-29 free shots (86.2 percent) during the game. Goetting.ASC outrebounded Langenhagen 33-17 including a 24-10 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Goetting.ASC especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. Langenhagen was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Nick Boakye (197-95) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Jorge Schmidt (193-85) who added 17 points (made all of his seven free throws) during the contest. At the losing side point guard Arthur Zaletskiy (183-94) responded with 14 points (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and point guard Tim Brauner (185-91) scored 14 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Goetting.ASC have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position in North with 4-0 record. Newly promoted Langenhagen dropped to the second place with one game lost. Goetting.ASC will face Wolmirstedt (#4) at home in the next round. Langenhagen will play against Stade and hope to win that game.
