Regular Season Round 4: Salzkotten - Recklinghausen 68-76

Date: October 6, 2018
Very expected game when bottom-ranked Salzkotten (0-3) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Recklinghausen (2-1) 76-68 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Chris Longoria (193-92, college: Valdosta St.) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and guard Christoph Bruns (180-87) who added 13 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Longoria is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. At the losing side power forward Eike-Simon Kerfs (202-95) responded with 15 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Dominik Wolf (185-94) scored 11 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Recklinghausen moved-up to third place in West, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser Salzkotten still closes the standings with three games lost. Recklinghausen will face Kamp-Lintfort (#13) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Salzkotten will play against Dortmund and hopes to get finally their first victory.
