Regular Season Round 3: ALBA Berlin - Bad Homburg 53-75

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of ALBA Berlin (1-1) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were rolled over by Homburger TG (3-0) 75-53. It was a great evening for Spanish forward Nerea Garmendia (181) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. Canadian guard Alexandra Polishchuk (168-87, college: Laurentian) helped adding 18 points and 5 assists. Four Homburger TG players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international swingman Ireti Amojo (177-90, college: Washington St.) with 9 points and 7 rebounds and Noemie Rouault (182-95) scored 9 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Homburger TG is looking forward to face TG Neuss (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. ALBA Berlin will play against Baskets Grunberg (#7) in Gruenberg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
