Regular Season Round 3: Bernau - Schwelm 71-79

There was a minor upset when SSV Lok Bernau (1-2) was defeated at home by SG Schwelmer Baskets (1-2) 79-71. SG Schwelmer Baskets forced 20 SSV Lok Bernau turnovers and had a 28-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. 31 personal fouls committed by SSV Lok Bernau helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Erik Durham (193-94, college: Jacksonville St.) who led the winners and scored 22 points and 7 rebounds. Point guard Niklas Geske (188-94) accounted for 19 points and 4 assists for the winning side. American forward Khris Lane (201, college: VCU) came up with 24 points and guard Robert Kulawick (192-86) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively for SSV Lok Bernau in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. SG Schwelmer Baskets' next round opponent will be Itzehoe at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
