CS Dinamo Bucuresti (0-1) recorded a loss at the home court. Hosts were defeated by Sibiu (1-0) 96-92. It looked good early as CS Dinamo Bucuresti took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Sibiu had a 24-18 second period charge getting the lead and CS Dinamo Bucuresti was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 92-96. Sibiu forced 23 CS Dinamo Bucuresti turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Kevin Hardy (188-93, college: McNeese St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points, 5 rebounds, 11 assists and 6 steals. His fellow American import power forward Randal Falker (201-85, college: S.Illinois) contributed with 22 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Sibiu's coach Dan Fleseriu allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Croatian forward Zoran Vrkic (203-87, agency: PEPI SPORT) answered with 29 points and 6 rebounds (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field) and American power forward Justin Baker (203-89, college: Utah Valley) added 19 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for CS Dinamo Bucuresti. Five Sibiu and four CS Dinamo Bucuresti players scored in double figures. Sibiu will play against Pitesti (#7) at home in the next round. CS Dinamo Bucuresti will play against Craiova and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
