No shocking result in a game when Dukes (1-0) beat UBSC Graz (0-2) in Klosterneuburg 83-76 on Sunday. UBSC Graz was trailing by 8 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 21-13 charge of Dukes, which allowed them to win the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The former international forward Maximilian Hopfgartner (206-92, college: John Brown, agency: Dynamics Global Management) notched 17 points and 4 assists to lead the effort and international point guard Moritz Lanegger (190-90) supported him with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Even 24 points and 8 assists by American point guard Johnathan Hudson (180-87, college: Texas A&M) did not help to save the game for UBSC Graz. Cypriot center C.J. Turman (206-95, college: Florida Atlantic) added 17 points and 11 rebounds for the guests. Five Dukes and four UBSC Graz players scored in double figures. Dukes will meet Arkadia Lions in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. UBSC Graz will play against Timberwolves (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
