There was a minor upset when higher ranked Kaiserslautern (1-2) was defeated at home by thirteenth ranked Saarlouis/Dillingen (1-2) 102-91 on Sunday. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Ricky Easterling (189-83, college: Bridgewater) who helped to win the game recording 32 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and naturalized American swingman Xavier Williams (190-91, college: Holy Family) who added 21 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. At the losing side American forward John Barber (200-85, college: Youngstown St.) responded with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and Hungarian guard Gergely Hosszu (190-86) scored 16 points and 5 assists. Five Saarlouis/Dillingen and four Kaiserslautern players scored in double figures. Kaiserslautern's coach tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Saarlouis/Dillingen left bottom position moving up to eighth place in South-West, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Kaiserslautern. Saarlouis/Dillingen will face Mainz (#9) at home in the next round.
