Regular Season Round 4: Westerstede - Wolmirstedt 77-91

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Wolmirstedt (4-1) won against on the road bottom-ranked Westerstede (0-4) 91-77 on Sunday. Wolmirstedt made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Westerstede was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Garrett Jefferson (190-91, college: Cal.Baptist) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 5 rebounds and guard Philipp Lieser (194-89, college: Cent.Washington) who added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists during the contest. Four Wolmirstedt players scored in double figures. At the losing side Marcello Schroeder (195-87) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 16 rebounds and point guard Jacob Hollatz (191-98) scored 26 points, 9 assists and 5 steals. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Wolmirstedt have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in North, which they share with Wusterhausen and Langenhagen. Loser Westerstede still closes the standings with four games lost. Wolmirstedt will face league's leader Goetting.ASC in Goettingen in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Westerstede will play at home against Cuxhaven (#7) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
