Artland Dragons defeated Phoenix Hagen in Quakenbrueck 79-71. Artland Dragons dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Phoenix Hagen's 34. It was a great evening for American forward Demetris Morant (206-92, college: FGCU) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Pierre Bland (188-92, college: PFW) helped adding 13 points and 9 assists. Morant is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Artland Dragons players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American center Alex Herrera (206-92, college: Fort Lewis, agency: Two Points) with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and swingman Jonas Grof (201-96, college: High School) scored 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Phoenix Hagen will play next round against Kirchheim Knights trying to get back on the winning streak. Artland Dragons will try to continue on its current victory against Schalke on the road.
