Regular Season Round 4: Leverkusen FB - Dorsten 86-92

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Dorsten and 9th ranked Leverkusen FB had identical 1-1 record. But Leverkusen FB was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Dorsten 92-86 on Sunday night. Dorsten looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Leverkusen FB was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Mike Nwabuzor (188, college: N.Mexico Highlands) who helped to win the game recording 29 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and naturalized Albanian point guard Nderim Pelaj (182-88) who added 29 points during the contest. Nwabuzor attended previously one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball. At the losing side Marc Ra responded with 18 points and 8 assists and center Adrian Brueckmann (203-91) scored 17 points and 9 rebounds. Leverkusen FB's coach Thomas Pimperl tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Dorsten (2-1) moved-up to third place in West, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser Leverkusen FB keeps the ninth position with two games lost. Dorsten will face league's second-placed Hertener Loewen at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Leverkusen FB will play against Herford (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
