Regular Season Round 1: Galatasaray - Anadolu Efes 70-73

Quite upsetting was Galatasaray's home defeat in a game versus Anadolu Efes who edged hosts 73-70. Galatasaray was very close to get their first win. But it seems they have to wait a little bit longer. Anadolu Efes dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Galatasaray's 28 and made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Australian forward Brock Motum (208-90, college: Washington St.) fired 20 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Shane Larkin (180-92, college: Miami, FL) chipped in 16 points and 5 assists. American Aaron Harrison (198-94, college: Kentucky) produced 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and New Zealand guard Tai-Jack Webster (193-95, college: Nebraska) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Anadolu Efes' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Istanbul Darussafaka.
