Bayer Giants smashed Coburg in Leverkusen 84-62. They outrebounded Coburg 50-22 including a 38-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was center Dennis Heinzmann (216-91) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Center Marian Schick (202-86) chipped in 7 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Bayer Giants players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was French guard Kevin Franceschi (191-93, college: Oklah.Baptist) who recorded 15 points and guard Dino Dizdarevic (193-95) added 13 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Coburg will play next round against Elchingen trying to get back on the winning streak. Bayer Giants will try to continue on its current victory against Dragons Rhoendorf on the road.
