Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Strangely AD Vagos outrebounded Carnide 43-27 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Angolan forward Artemis Afonso (175-93) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international point guard Ines Faustino (170-92) chipped in 16 points and 4 steals during the contest. Center Susana Carvalheira (187-99) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and Daniela Jesus scored 9 points and 6 rebounds. Carnide will play against Uniao Sportiva (#4) in Ponta Delgada in the next round. AD Vagos will play on the road against Vitoria SC (#8) in Guimaraes and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
