Regular Season Round 1: Silutes SM - Zalgiris U18 93-68

Silutes SM used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from Kaunas 93-68 on Tuesday night. The game without a history. Silutes SM led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Zalgiris U18's 28. Silutes SM forced 26 Zalgiris U18 turnovers. Zalgiris U18 was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Dovydas Rimkus (193-1) fired a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds for the winners. Tautvydas Rimkus (192-1) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals. Forward Rokas Miskinis (196-1) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks and point guard Vincentas Salcius (184-1) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Silutes SM will face Jonavos (#8) in Jonava in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Zalgiris U18's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Kaunas Perkunas.
