Regular Season Round 1: Horsholm - Amager 89-51

Very important is a road loss of Amager (0-1) against Horsholm (1-0) on Wednesday night. Visiting Amager was crushed by Horsholm in Horsholm 89-51. The game was mostly controlled by Horsholm. Amager managed to win third quarter 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Amager to just 7 points in second quarter. Horsholm dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Amager's 26. Horsholm forced 22 Amager turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American forward Layne Murphy (185-94, college: Chicago St.) fired a double-double by scoring 12 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winners. International forward Gritt Ryder (173-92, college: Colorado St.) chipped in 13 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Horsholm players scored in double figures. American forward Valerie Driscoll (193-92, college: Quinnipiac) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds and guard Ida Klussmann (169-93) added 14 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Horsholm will meet SISU (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Amager will play against Herlev and hope to win that game.
