Regular Season Round 1: Beroe - Slavia 108-67

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Slavia (0-1) in Stara Zagora on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by Beroe (1-0) 108-67. Beroe dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Slavia's 34. Beroe forced 24 Slavia turnovers and outrebounded them 45-20 including a 19-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Slavia's players. Evgenia Natskina (180-97) stepped up and scored 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and international point guard Karina Konstantinova (173-99) chipped in 10 points, 7 rebounds, 9 assists and 12 steals. Four Beroe players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Ivana Nikolova (185-1) responded with 24 points and 5 rebounds and forward Ester Micheva (180-94) scored 19 points. Slavia's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Beroe is looking forward to face NSA (#7) in Sofia in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Slavia will play at home against Academic PL and is hoping to win this game.
