There was no surprise in Leverkusen where 5th ranked SG BBZ Opladen (1-2) was defeated by third ranked B.Loewen (3-1) 66-53 on Saturday. B.Loewen dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to SG BBZ Opladen's 20. American Marquisha Harris (180-93, college: W.Michigan) fired a double-double by scoring 29 points and 17 rebounds for the winners. Guard Tatiana Tenorio-Haynes (175-91, college: Angelo St.) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds. Harris is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Canadian forward Heather Lindsay (190, college: Carleton) produced 5 points and 13 rebounds and American guard Briana Williams (170-92, college: Mercer) added 14 points respectively for lost side. B.Loewen moved-up to second place in North, which they share with Halle and Bad Homburg. Loser SG BBZ Opladen dropped to the sixth position with two games lost. B.Loewen will face TG Neuss (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. SG BBZ Opladen will play against ALBA Berlin (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
