Regular Season Round 4: Speyer - Rhein-Main 90-84

Undefeated Rhein Main Baskets (2-1) recorded its first loss in Dudenhofen. Visitors were defeated by tenth ranked Speyer / Schifferstadt (1-2) 90-84. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Rhein Main Baskets. Speyer / Schifferstadt made 26-of-33 charity shots (78.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Rhein Main Baskets turnovers. Rhein Main Baskets were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Shantrell Moss (180-85, college: Clark Atlanta) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 5 rebounds. Power forward Marla Ruf (182-1) contributed with 18 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Bosnian power forward Anja Stupar (182-89) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists and American forward Kailey Edwards (175-93, college: Boston Coll.) added 24 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Rhein Main Baskets. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Rhein Main Baskets' coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Speyer / Schifferstadt left bottom position moving up to sixth place in South, which they share with Ludwigsburg and Schwabach. Rhein Main Baskets at the other side dropped to the second position with one game lost. Speyer / Schifferstadt will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Rhein Main Baskets will play at home against Don Bosco Bamberg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
