Regular Season Round 3: Oberwart - Vienna 86-81

Very predictable result when Gunners Oberwart (2-1) defeated at home Hallmann (0-3) 86-81 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 22-10. But Hallmann won third quarter 30-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Hallmann 38-24 including 24 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Gunners Oberwart especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Renato Poljak (197-97) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Hayden Lescault (196-92, college: Point Loma) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 assists. Four Gunners Oberwart players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international Jason Detrick (195-80, college: Oklahoma) who recorded 35 points (!!!) and the former international forward Florian Trmal (199-89, agency: Dynamics Global Management) added 22 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Gunners Oberwart will meet Dukes (#7) in the next round. Hallmann will play against Furstenfeld Panthers and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
