Round 4 in 2.Bundesliga means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Neuss where host TG Neuss (1-3) edged league's leader Homburger TG (3-1) 74-73 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Homburger TG. American Natalie Bastian (173-94, college: Franklin Pierce) fired 21 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. Power forward Jana Heinrich (188-86, college: San Diego St.) chipped in 23 points. Four TG Neuss players scored in double figures. American forward Stephanie Furr (179, college: Wisc.-Parkside) produced 21 points and Canadian guard Alexandra Polishchuk (168-87, college: Laurentian) added 19 points respectively for lost side. TG Neuss left bottom position moving up to ninth place in North, which they share with BG 89 Avides. Homburger TG at the other side dropped to the third position with one game lost. They share it with Halle and B.Loewen. They were replaced at the leadership position by Osnabrueck SC. Homburger TG will play next round against Krofdorf trying to make it back to the top of the standings. TG Neuss will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked B.Loewen on the road.
