Regular Season Round 5: Vilsbiburg - TSV Troester 79-68

There was an upset when second-ranked TSV Troester (4-1) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked Vilsbiburg (3-2) 79-68 on Saturday. Vilsbiburg made 19-of-19 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. Vilsbiburg outrebounded TSV Troester 50-31 including 17 on the offensive glass. Italian-Slovenian center Davor Barovic (211-90) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 16 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) for the winners and forward Andreas Goderbauer (195-90) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds. Vilsbiburg's coach Marc Vilas used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Alexander Engel (191-93) responded with 16 points and 5 rebounds and guard Joerg Dippold (195-92) scored 19 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Vilsbiburg moved-up to fourth place in South-East, which they share with Ansbach and Herzogenaurach. Loser TSV Troester keeps the second position with one game lost. Vilsbiburg will face Muenchen OSB (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. TSV Troester will play against Ansbach (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
