Regular Season Round 4: Bochum - Muenster 87-77

Everything could happen in Bochum at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked SparkassenStars and 8th ranked Muenster had identical 1-2 record. This time SparkassenStars used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Muenster 87-77 on Saturday night. SparkassenStars looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Muenster was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for American guard Montrael Scott (190-93, college: Prairie View A&M) who helped to win the game recording 12 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Center Florian Wendeler (205-93) contributed with 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Five SparkassenStars players scored in double figures. American guard Jojo Cooper (183-95, college: Wagner) replied with 8 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and Stefan Wess (204-94) added 15 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Muenster. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. SparkassenStars (2-2) moved-up to third place in North, which they share with 6 other teams. Muenster lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the tenth position with three games lost. SparkassenStars will face SSV Lok Bernau (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Muenster will play against the league's leader Iserlohn and hope to win that game.
