Regular Season Round 5: Neustadt TSV - Aschersleben 87-81

There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked Neustadt TSV (2-3) beat at home higher ranked Aschersleben (3-3) 87-81 on Saturday. Neustadt TSV had a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard Brandon Roberts (185-94, college: Al.-Huntsville) stepped up and scored 21 points for the winners and British guard Rishi Kakad (188-87, college: Hawaii Pacific) chipped in 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. American point guard Kendal Williams (183-92, college: Delaware St.) responded with 29 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and French guard Jordan Aboki (190-93) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Neustadt TSV moved-up to tenth place in North, which they share with Rendsburg. Loser Aschersleben dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. Neustadt TSV will face higher ranked Langenhagen (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
