Regular Season Round 5: Bad Aibling - Jena II 87-72

There was a small surprise when fourteenth ranked Bad Aibling (1-3) won against at home 12th ranked Jena II (1-4) 87-72 on Saturday. Jena II was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Simon Bradaric stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 assists for the winners and Serbian-Croatian forward Miodrag Mirceta (198) chipped in 23 points. Four Bad Aibling players scored in double figures. Serbian guard Vuk Radojicic (185-1) responded with 17 points and Russian Dominik Shusel (200-99) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bad Aibling left bottom position moving up to tenth place in South-East, which they share with Rosenheim and Muenchen OSB. Loser Jena II dropped to the thirteenth position with four games lost. Bad Aibling will face higher ranked Bamberg (#8) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Jena II will play against Herzogenaurach (#5) and hope to win that game.
