Regular Season Round 3: Niko-Basket - Zolotoi Vek 80-54

There was no surprise in Mykolaiv where Zolotoi Vek (0-3) was crushed by Niko-Basket (1-0) 80-54 on Saturday. The game without a history. Niko-Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Niko-Basket outrebounded Zolotoi Vek 65-42 including a 38-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Niko-Basket made 10 blocks. It was a great evening for point guard Mark Bodnar (185-98) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Swingman Maksym Ozhegov (190-90) helped adding 24 points. Niko-Basket's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was forward Olexandr Drobiazko (200-93) with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and guard Mikita Miz (195-90) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. Niko-Basket will again meet at home Zolotoi Vek (#9) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Zolotoi Vek will have a break next round.
