Regular Season Round 5: Leitershofen - Bamberg 61-56

The game between closely ranked teams ended with fourth ranked Topstar's (4-1) home victory over 5th ranked Bamberg (2-3) 61-56 on Saturday. American point guard CJ Carr (173-95, college: Missouri So.) stepped up and scored 14 points for the winners and Slovenian guard Emanuel Richter (192-86) chipped in 14 points. Topstar's coach Ian Chadwick allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American power forward Robert Ferguson (203-85, college: St.Joseph's) responded with 15 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Kevin Jefferson (175-96) scored 14 points. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Topstar. They moved-up to second place in South-East, which they share with TSV Troester. Loser Bamberg dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. Topstar will face Schwabing (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Bamberg will play against Bad Aibling and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
