Regular Season Round 1: Vaerlose - Stevnsgade 78-63
Date: October 14, 2018
The game in Vaerlose was also worth to mention about. Stevnsgade (0-1) played at the court of Vaerlose (1-0). Vaerlose defeated Stevnsgade 78-63. It looked good early as Stevnsgade took a 4-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Vaerlose had a 15-9 second period charge getting the lead and Stevnsgade was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 63-78. Vaerlose forced 21 Stevnsgade turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Frida Formann (179-1) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Maria Hoegh (178-98) contributed with 9 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. The former international guard Rikke Fabricius (184-92, college: Cent.Michigan) answered with 12 points and 8 rebounds and the former international forward Hanna Sheikh (180-92) added 7 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Stevnsgade. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Vaerlose's next round opponent will be Lemvig (#7) on the road which should be theoretically an easy game. Stevnsgade will play against Aabyhoj and hope to win that game.
