No shocking result in a game in Bonn where Telekom Baskets (3-0) won against BBC Bayreuth (1-1) 94-84 on Sunday. They outrebounded BBC Bayreuth 39-19 including a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American center Charles Jackson (208-93, college: Tenn Tech) who scored 17 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). His fellow American import point guard Josh Mayo (181-87, college: Ill.-Chicago, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) chipped in 18 points and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American Adonis Thomas (201-93, college: Memphis) who recorded 14 points and 4 assists and Slovenian Gregor Hrovat (196-94) added 16 points and 5 steals respectively. Five Telekom Baskets and four BBC Bayreuth players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Telekom Baskets will meet Bayern Muenchen on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. BBC Bayreuth will play against Braunschweig (#15) and hope to win that game.
