Regular Season Round 2: A.Vlaicu Buc. - Focsani 60-79

Everything went according to plan when Focsani (2-0) outplayed on the road Aurel Vlaicu Bucuresti (0-2) 79-60 on Sunday. Aurel Vlaicu Bucuresti trailed 33-30 at halftime, rallying from a 22-9 deficit at the end of first quarter to trim the gap. Focsani dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Aurel Vlaicu Bucuresti's 22. Focsani forced 24 Aurel Vlaicu Bucuresti turnovers. American forward Kyle Kilgore (201, college: Dakota St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Sergiu Pop (197-91) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Theordor Duca replied with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds and center Nicolae-Marian Ciuca (200-99) added 10 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Aurel Vlaicu Bucuresti. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Focsani will face Univ.Cluj (#10) in Cluj Napoca in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Aurel Vlaicu Bucuresti will play on the road against Targu Jiu in Rovinari and hope to win that game.
