Regular Season Round 4: Rist Wedel - BSW Sixers 94-92

The most exciting game of round 4 in the ProB took place in Wedel. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of much higher ranked Sixers (2-2) to fourth ranked SC Rist Wedel (3-1) 94-92 on Sunday evening. It was a key game for the second position in North. 28 personal fouls committed by Sixers helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Malo Valerien (197-92) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Mario Blessing (188-92, college: USC Upstate) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Lithuanian Eimantas Stankevicius (190-98, agency: Octagon Europe) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and American forward Terrence Williams (198-93, college: Charlotte) added 21 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Sixers. Five SC Rist Wedel and four Sixers players scored in double figures. SC Rist Wedel moved-up to second place in North. Newly promoted Sixers dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. They share it with 6 other teams. SC Rist Wedel are looking forward to face Itzehoe (#7) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Sixers will play against ETB Wohnbau and are hoping to win this game.
