Regular Season Round 4: Phoenix Hagen - Kirchheim 86-90

Kirchheim Knights can celebrate their first win this season after two consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Hagen, where they defeated Phoenix Hagen (1-3) 90-86. Kirchheim Knights dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Phoenix Hagen's 36. The winners were led by American guard Rohndell Goodwin (195-91, college: Chaminade) who scored that evening 25 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import forward Keith Rendleman (203-90, college: NC-Wilmington, agency: HMS) supported him with 18 points and 9 rebounds. Kirchheim Knights' coach Mauricio Parra allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 21 points and 4 assists by American guard Kris Davis (188-93, college: SIU Edwardsville) did not help to save the game for Phoenix Hagen. Swingman Jonas Grof (201-96, college: High School) added 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for lost side. Four Kirchheim Knights and five Phoenix Hagen players scored in double figures. Kirchheim Knights (1-2) left bottom position moving up to tenth place, which they share with Heidelberg and Walter Tigers. It was Phoenix Hagen's third loss in a row. They dropped to the thirteenth position with three games lost. Kirchheim Knights' next round opponent will be higher ranked Rostock (#7) at home and it may be quite challenging game. Phoenix Hagen will play against Schalke (#6) and hope to win that game.
