But Galatasaray was not able to use a home court advantage and was crushed by the opponent from Istanbul 71-51 on Sunday night. Arel Univ outrebounded Galatasaray 53-31 including a 18-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Forward Emincan Inan (196-0) orchestrated the victory by scoring 27 points and 7 rebounds. Kaan Telimen (-0) contributed with 9 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Romanian Cem Karakus (196-0) replied with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Alp Oktay (189-1) added 9 points in the effort for Galatasaray. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Arel Univ will face Afyon (#9) in the next round where they are favorite. Galatasaray's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Istanbul to the arena Fenerbahce.
