Very important is a road loss of third ranked Oldenburg (2-2) against ninth ranked Titans (2-2) on Sunday night. Visiting Oldenburg was defeated by Titans in Dresden 80-64. Titans dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Oldenburg's 24. They outrebounded Oldenburg 40-22 including a 31-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Titans players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American Brandon Watkins (207-95, college: W.Virginia) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Arne Wendler (196-99, college: High School) who added 15 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Watkins is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Titans players scored in double figures. Titans' coach Nenad Josipovic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side the former international Philip Zwiener (201-85) responded with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and center Till Isemann (209-96) scored 11 points. Titans moved-up to third place in North, which they share with 6 other teams including defeated Oldenburg. Titans will play against SG Schwelmer Baskets (#4) on the road in the next round. Oldenburg will play against Herzoege Wolfenbuettel and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
