There was a minor upset when Goettingen (0-2) lost on the road to ChemCats Chemnitz (1-2) 72-61. The best player for the winners was American forward Maya Hood (178-94, college: San Diego) who scored 18 points and 9 rebounds. Her fellow American import guard Ana Owens (168-96, college: Cincinnati) chipped in 16 points and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Trinidad and Tobago-Vincentian center Verdine Warner (196-92, college: Shaw) who recorded 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks and guard Jennifer Crowder (164-96) added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively.
