Regular Season Round 3: Naestved - Vaerlose 97-61
Date: October 16, 2018
There was a small surprise when Naestved (2-1) crushed at home Vaerlose (0-4) 97-61 on Tuesday. The game without a history. Naestved led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for American Jordan Mathews (191-94, college: Gonzaga) who led his team to a victory with 18 points and 4 steals. International Philip Hertz (195-92, college: Rio Grande) contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Five Naestved players scored in double figures. American forward Richard Granberry (203-93, college: Virginia St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds and forward Philip Kold (202-97) added 4 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Vaerlose. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Naestved will face BMS Skovlunde on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Vaerlose will play against Svendborg and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
