Regular Season Round 3: Yalova Vip - Galatasaray G. 96-57

There was a surprise result when Yalova Vip (1-2) crushed at home Galatasaray G. (1-2) 96-57. Yalova Vip dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Galatasaray G.'s 22. They outrebounded Galatasaray G. 53-22 including a 39-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Yalova Vip players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Galatasaray G.'s players. The best player for the winners was Ukrainian center Olena Staschuk (192-85) who scored 34 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 5 blocks. Forward Betul Kalfali (180-93) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists. Five Yalova Vip players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Misra Albayrak (178-0) who recorded 15 points and 4 assists and Sude Yilmaz (178-2, agency: FlyBasketball) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Galatasaray G.'s coach already knew that her team would not have a big chance, so allowed to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Yalova Vip's next round opponent will be Urla BLD (#4) in Izmir and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
