Regular Season Round 5: Rhein-Main - Bamberg 62-66

Very important is a home loss of second ranked Rhein Main Baskets (2-2) against fifth ranked Don Bosco Bamberg (2-1) on Saturday night. Host Rhein Main Baskets were defeated by Don Bosco Bamberg in a tough game in Langen 62-66. It was a key game for the second position in South. American guard DaJonee Hale (173-94, college: Cent.Methodist) nailed 25 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) for the winning side and Serbian Branka Lukovic (188-95) accounted for 9 points and 18 rebounds. Hale is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Bosnian power forward Anja Stupar (182-89) came up with 14 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Kailey Edwards (175-93, college: Boston Coll.) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Rhein Main Baskets in the defeat. Rhein Main Baskets' coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Don Bosco Bamberg moved-up to second place in South. Loser Rhein Main Baskets dropped to the third position with two games lost. They share it with Schwabach. Don Bosco Bamberg will meet at home Schwabach (#4) in the next round. Rhein Main Baskets will play against BasCats Heidelberg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
