Regular Season Round 5: Iserlohn - Muenster 77-70

ProB top team - Iserlohn (5-0) added another victory to their record. This time they beat twelfth ranked Muenster (1-4) 77-70. They outrebounded Muenster 37-21 including a 33-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by Muenster helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American power forward Lamar Mallory (201-90, college: Glenville St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Naturalized Brazilian Gabriel De-Oliveira (206-97) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Mallory is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American guard Jojo Cooper (183-95, college: Wagner) answered with 7 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists and Stefan Wess (204-94) added 14 points in the effort for Muenster. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Iserlohn. They maintain first place in North with 5-0 record. Muenster lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the tenth position with four games lost. Iserlohn's next round opponent will be SparkassenStars (#4) in Bochum. Muenster will play at home against Itzehoe (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
