Regular Season Round 6: Salzkotten - Dorsten 63-78

There was no surprise when 11th ranked Salzkotten (1-4) was defeated at home by second ranked Dorsten (4-1) 78-63 on Saturday. Dorsten dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Salzkotten's 28. Dorsten forced 19 Salzkotten turnovers. The best player for the winners was American guard Mike Nwabuzor (188, college: N.Mexico Highlands) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. Naturalized Albanian point guard Nderim Pelaj (182-88) chipped in 20 points and 6 assists. Nwabuzor is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Matthias Finke (190-87) who recorded 24 points and 4 assists and point guard Dominik Wolf (185-94) added 10 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) respectively. Dorsten have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position in West with 4-1 record having 2 victories less than leader Wolmirstedt. Salzkotten at the other side dropped to the tenth place with four games lost. Dorsten will face Kamp-Lintfort (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Salzkotten will play against Herford and hope to win that game.
